Interested in volunteering for projects at GYHS?

Yes, consider joining our efforts to protect, preserve, and restore Gilroy Hot Springs!
We are undergoing a transition - working smarter, not harder.
We've had 3 years of Full Moon Camp Outs that helped protect against vandalism.
We've been restoring the oldest cabin on site (you remember it as the Tatami Room).
We've rallied more awareness, support, and fans.
We're planning our 4th year of "Travel Through History" in October, and we'll need lots of help with that.
And we want to assure continued attention, funding, and effort toward restoring public access to this important part of Coe Park.

We want to assure historic preservation activities along with respect for the natural and cultural resources (plants, animals, and stories). More about that, later.

The Park volunteer forms are complex because, as volunteers, we are asking the Departmetn of Parks and Recreation (DPR) for "the keys to the vault of valuables", and we're applying to be a guardian. DPR of course wants some assurance that the volunteers will respect and follow the rules and guidelines.

In addition to the potential of being the mineral water retreat, GYHS serves as a significant portal into the park - a place where "non outdoorsey" people can easily visit and see part of the beauty and majesty of "their backyard". Your participation as a GYHS volunteer will help assure that the public can continue to visit (plus there are some perks for volunteers, and more for those who contribute significant time on projects).
